Spring is coming:
2025 is in full swing as we are now in March and things are starting to getting brighter, days longer and flower bulbs are pushing through.
What does Spring time look like for skin care?
Skin care
During this transition, many people experience dry patches on their skin. (Face and body)
These patches can occur due to changes in weather, humidity levels, and exposure to allergens. Reducing dry patches is essential for maintaining smooth and hydrated skin as the seasons change.
1- Hydrating Cleanser
Switching to a hydrating cleanser can help maintain moisture while effectively cleaning the skin. Look for cleansers with ingredients like hyaluronic acid or glycerin. Personally, I love a rich cleansing balm that I remove with a hot cloth.
2- Gentle Exfoliation
Gentle exfoliation will help to remove dead skin cells that can contribute to dry patches. Using a mild exfoliant with lactic acid or enzyme-based exfoliators can smooth the skin without causing irritation. 1 / 2 x a week
3- Hydrating Serums
Applying a hydrating serum before your moisturizer, day or night can provide an extra layer of hydration. Serums containing hyaluronic acid or niacinamide can help attract and retain moisture in the skin. If you have the time, I recommend massaging this into the skin for at least a minute or 2, this way your really pushing it into the skin to where it is needed.
4- Moisturizing Creams
It’s time to switch out the heavy-duty rich moisturisers that saw us through, being blasted by blow heaters as you stepped inside a store or café. Bring in a lighter weight, easy to layer moisturiser that wears well under the occasional down pour as the days (and nights) start to warm up.
5- Face Masks are great for all seasons
Hydrating face masks, especially those containing ingredients like honey, avocado, or oatmeal, can provide intensive moisture to dry patches, helping to soothe and repair the skin. You can use an overnight mask, sheet mask, rinse off mask, what ever your preference try and apply at least 1x a week
By incorporating these Spring Skin Care Tips into your routine, you can effectively reduce dry patches and keep your skin hydrated and healthy during the spring season.
Vitamin C – Why its great for your skin:
Benefits of Vitamin C Serum:
Brightens Your Skin by evening out your skin tone and brightens dull areas. Making your skin look more radiant and fresh, which is perfect for the vibrant spring season.
Reduces hyperpigmentation: If you have dark spots or hyperpigmentation from sun exposure or acne scars, Vitamin C can help lighten them. It works by inhibiting the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for dark spots.
Protects Against Sun Damage: While Vitamin C is NOT a replacement for sunscreen, it helps protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV rays. It can reduce damage caused by sun exposure and help prevent premature aging.
Boosts Collagen Production: Vitamin C supports the production of collagen, a protein that keeps your skin firm and smooth. This can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving you a more youthful look.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant, which means it fights free radicals. Helps to neutralize free radicals—unstable molecules that can damage your skin cells. This can help protect your skin from environmental stressors like pollution.
Adding a Vitamin C serum as Spring Skin Care Tips can give your skin a bright, healthy glow while protecting it from everyday damage. It’s a simple step with powerful benefits!
A lot of skin care therapists prefer you to use the Vit C serum in the evening, instead of the day.
